Hi Arapahoe Ridge! Happy 3rd issue!
Now that the New Year is upon us, I hope you took some time to think about goals that you might want to set for yourself in this new year of 2018.
Don't get me wrong, we should be setting goals for ourselves all the time...think of now as a bonus time to check in on how you're doing with short, mid, and long-term goals, as well as any new ones you want to add.
This year my goals layout looks like this:
-get better at taking my dog outside for walks during cold winter days
-finish 2 books, at home, by the end of the school year.
-quit biting my nails ("Stop it!" is what Ms. Sharon always says)
-continuing to go to the gym/being physical 5 days a week.
When thinking about YOUR goals, keep them meaningful to you, attainable, and something that will motivate you.
Here's to 2018 and to a continued, yet improved you!
Have you seen the trailer for the upcoming movie, A Wrinkle in Time? Did you know that it is also a book? It just so happens to be one of my favorite childhood novels! I'm excited and nervous for the movie to come out because I always worry that they're going to take away from the book.
I just started reading the book to my class. It is literally the book that I read as a kid (it's a little well loved and worn).
The book was published in 1962 and has won the Newberry Medal, Sequoyah Book Award and Hans Christian Anderson Award. It is a part of the Time Quintet. It's a science fiction novel that follows the Murray children as they go on a fantastical journey to try and save their father.
